KWAN YIN

(Click image to see an enlarged view.)

This is a painting of a Kwan Yin statue. I took the photo at Down To Earth, a gardening store in Eugene. The statue was set up against a large pot and a blue green shed.

I masked off the pot, statue and plants, or at least the tops of them, and then painted wet in wet the blue green background. I painted the statue a very light gray then kept adding darker and darker color for the folds, shadows and crevices.

I'm satisfied with how the statue and pot turned out and I like the look of the folds in the statue's clothing.
