RED COVERED BRIDGE

This is a painting from another Bruce Fingerhood photograph. The composition is dramatic with the white railings leading the eye into the dark interior of the bridge.

The original photo is of the Hayden Bridge, near Alsea, Oregon. Built 1918, it was refurbished 2003. I took some artistic license by changing the color of the bridge from white to red. The photo was also taken in winter so I pumped it up with the fall colors.

I like the depth of this painting. Although not intentional, I painted it with real primary colors using blue, yellow, red and green in an almost color wheel effect. The road is intentionally light and a blue hue without much detail.

This painting was purchased by Carrie Farset.
