The painting I'm currently working on is from a photo I took in Portland earlier this month. The photo(at right) shows a Trimet train at the Convention Center Station. There is a kiosk and long afternoon shadows on a cold but clear winter day. The problem I'm having is getting the rail bed dark enough so you know that there is a 2 foot drop from the platform to the rail bed. At that the need for realism on the train and it's a fine kettle of fish I've gotten my self into, Stanley!

My Uncle, who in many ways is my painting mentor, fell last month and is now in an assisted living facility. He'll be 96 this April. I need to call and talk with him.

I'll post the Trimet Train painting when I finish, unless, of course, I'm Norwegian.
